Being pregnant personally, I just can't imagine putting my baby at risk like that. It's so so sad. Get help, don't harm an innocent. Better yet, don't get pregnant in the first place if you can't go 9 months without drinking.

Amen to that! Good going readingitall, your baby will definitely be able to count, add and read well before its twelfth birthday, unlike many poor kids.

«marli : Damn you. I feel guilty because it's such a sad story, but your description made me laugh out loud.
It's "borrowed", but it made me feel a bit better after reading that sad story so I went ahead and included it. There's always a place for humor.

What a tragedy! It happens way too often. Drug addicted moms giving birth to addicted babies. So sad that the children barely have a chance. Pregnancy is a time when moms-to-be should treat their bodies as temples.
Back in the "I Love Lucy" era, when my mom had me and my 2 brothers in quick succession over 4 years, her doctor recommended that she drink an occasional beer because it was "good for the baby". Mom, not being a drinker (just occasionally) and having a dislike for beer, drank it as medicine. She probably had one a week, if that much. (Not being born, I don't remember). Thankfully that thinking has long changed.
