Great program, but don't be fooled. It isn't because the want to "... reinforce our commitment to the total health and wellness of our customers and their families"
It is solely and completely because such an action will bring in more customers who will most likely shop there. It is marketing. Not altruism.

Still, as I said, it is a great program.

My concern over free antibiotics is that they are over prescribed already for ailments that antibiotics don't really help.

It's a great PR gesture by Publix, and yes, sometimes marketing and public interest occasionally reach agreement.

I was a bit concerned by that when I saw the headline "free antibiotics" I was concerned that it was free for all. Antibiotics handed out even more like candy is no help for antibiotic resistant bacteria. But I don't think this would cause a large increase in prescriptions.
