This sounds like good news for anyone who has to screen regularly for breast cancer. Early reports indicate MRIs may actually work better than mammograms for early detection. According to the article: "MRIs may be able to do a better job at spotting an early form of the disease." MRIs are a lot less painful than Mammograms, so this is a very good thing. Although there is still the issue of claustrophobia and other safety issues with the use of MRIs....but I believe the effectiveness and painlessness of this vs the mammogram outweigh those negative factors and once the MRIs are done safely, it should not cause harm but instead provide a more useful tool to detect early cancers. picked by MissParker 2 years ago
