good question maven. a lot of people seem to have this disneyesque view of wild animals. i've seen more than one video (online and on tv) of people getting way to close to wild animals, keeping them as 'pets' or climbing over guard rails at zoos.... it always seems to end badly for both the human and the animal. this video comes to mind for me:
