Here is a picture of the outfit in question. The woman said "I felt like everybody was staring at me. They had all heard him lecturing me,". I am sure they weren't staring due to the outfit and just because the attendant was lecturing her.

The icon is far more risque than the actual outfit. Sure it is way short, but by the article you think her bosoms were pouring out. Yes, we all should dress modestly it is nicer and better for when you will be around young children, but she is free to dress how she wants like it or not.

Wise words eljay. I agree completely. By the way, I'll wear a longer skirt next time I try to fly *wink wink*.

You could sit next to me... and you don't have to wear anything if you don't want to.

I saw her panties! HA!

Around 1:32 into the interview with Matt Lauer.

That IS a little revealing. Buuuut, he could have just offered her a blanket or explained that he could see her undies.

If she was wearing any panties on that flight.

I say where whatever is not too revealing because America is just way too hung up on nudity, but a flight is really not the most appropriate place to dress like a hooker.

You know though, there are lots of places that require a dress code, and I don't see why it can't be required on an airplane.

I bet they aren't such a 'family airline' when it comes to women wishing to breasfeed. "What? Do something natural? You can't do that here!"

"Booohooo, I'm hot and people payed attention to me, wahhh!" haha, sorry but this is ridiculous, I'm sure she's so humiliated enough to go on national tv.

She acctually seemed to have the appropriate fabric anyway, just not enough of it. (for them) I'm okay with a little pantie flash. It befuddles me that we're fine with thongs on the beach, but catch a glimpse of a cotton triangle and you're a criminal. Covered is covered IMHO

No reason why not at all, but if they expect to enforce it, they should make it clear before they sell the ticket.

I can't understand why they got upset about this. As has been stated, you see that and more everyday. (Of course living in a college town probably increases the number of scantly-clad women I see)

Now what is really really really really f**ked up is seeing young girls dressed this way by their parents.

I know! Who the hell buys their nine- or ten-year-old daughter low-rise pants and a boob shirt? Or one of those itty-bitty miniskirts that shows cheek?

I wasn't too shocked until I saw one girl (who was much closer to my own age) dressed like that in the winter. Hello, did you not notice it's forty below today?
Here, let's just post a sign that says 'EVERYBODY!! LOOK AT ME!! I NEED ATTENTION!!' on you instead.

I see I agree with most of you here.

I can add that, after many many international flights, I've never been "threatened" by having such a dangerous person near me on a plane.

Good point - and with the added bonus that in that outfit there are very few places she could be concealing a weapon.

Not really, depends on how you define "weapon", or "conceal", I guess, hehheh!

We took our 12 year old girl to the mall for school clothes.
In the children's section they were selling little girls thongs, with things like a "kiss" mark on the crotch, "kiss me" in writing on the crotch, "sexy" in writing on the crotch...

It actually took quite a bit of effort and several weeks to find acceptable clothes for her.

Isn't that scary???? Who thought it was a good idea to dress our daughters this way? And yes, modest clothes for little girls is very hard to find.
