Sounds a bit like the "Seldon Plan", Asimov's concept of psychohistory.

Yes, good news to see positive trends... but there is still a lot to do. Even one conflict in Africa (or anywhere) is too much, etc. And I am still hoping for increased and improved communication between peoples with widely different belief systems, be they religious, economic, or whatever.

I also notices this.
I mean, Europe is not complete void of "war" and every country lives in peace (Technically, Turkey and Greece are still at war, but not much shooting going on). This hasn't happened in AGES.
