Huge Stockpile of Oxygen Found Deep Inside Earth
Huge Stockpile of Oxygen Found Deep Inside Earth
A mineral that acts like a sponge beneath Earth's surface stores more oxygen than expected, keeping our planet from becoming dry and inhospitable like Mars. The key to the abundant oxygen storage is the mineral majorite, which exists deep below Earth's surface in the mantle. Without the oxygen stockpile, Earth would probably be a barren planet hostile to life. picked by AutumnLotus 1 year ago

yep.. and it'll boost your metabolism with oxygen or something bs like that.... JUST BY WEARING IT....

the claims they come up with are almost amusing enough to watch that kinda stuff 24/7...

Majorite may act like this under extreme heat and pressure, but how does the oxygen get there in the first place? Earth had a reducing atmosphere to begin with and anaerobic life (with oxygen as a waste product) was/is the main source of our oxygen. Majorite's role may be one of storage -- and that may be a good thing to ensure we don't have too much oxygen in the atmosphere -- but it has little to do with production.

I doubt the scientists are saying that majorite is responsible for "creating" oxygen in the atmosphere, but the article sort of implies it.
