Her eyes were swollen shut. Her head ballooned three to four times its normal size. Her throat was nearly swollen shut. picked by titojuante 2 years ago

Amazing. The level that some people will stoop to never ceases to astound me.

I am so glad that she survived.

I will never understand why some people are compeled to abuse animals or other people. Even though I am not a huge dog person (I like them, I just don't want one)this makes me sick.

Poor dog. That's just horrible.

I'm glad she recovered.

I am not a dog person, but what possesses a person to do that to a living creature. She sure looked happy and healthy in the last picture. I am glad she survived.

I'm amazed that she survived. She really didn't look like a dog. If I saw her I too would probably say that there was a weird looking animal outside of my house.

I am a dog person, a cat person, a reptile person, a fish person, a bird person, a rodent person. The insects and arachnids are on their own, sorry.

It's horrible that this dog suffered so much unwarranted cruelty, and wonderful that it was rescued and can play a role in expanding the awareness of animal care. (And I'd guess that bonding with an Aussie Shepherd wouldn't be bad for her 'pack' psychologically-oriented dog-ego, either :) )

Sadly because of abusive people animals need speacial help. I know some very good people that do that kind of work. The hard part for them is to give up the animal when it is well. They love them all.

I am happy this story had a happy ending. That this poor puppy found a caring person to help heal it.

In my opinion there is very little difference between child abuse and animal abuse. Children and domesticated animals trust adults and depend on them, and yet time and time again stupid #^@!&*'s prove that age doesn't equal wisdom or compassion.

It's proven that animal abuse at a young age is a common theme between serial killers, and as such I think that we should treat animal abuse much more harshly. People who abuse animals deserve the worst punishment the law allows.

I'm sorry. I must be an inhuman monster. An emergency room for chihuahuas? I just can't really see wasting time, energy, money, and talent on... a dog?

Just goes to prove that some people have more money than brains, I guess.

Great story, she's a lucky little dog to make it out of this ok. I wish all the mistreated and forgotten animals could be so lucky.

See how I haven't killed you for that? My therapist will be so pleased!
Insult not veterinary medicine when vet techs lurk around.

I agree. They should've put her down immediately.

"300 people applied to adopt her. But she was returned to the Humane Society soon after because of a pesky Rottweiler who was just too rambunctious with the now-healthy 6.6-pound, 2-year-old Chihuahua."

out of 300 applicants, the best home was with a rambunctious rottweiler? Am I reading that properlY?

Be sure to share that sentiment with your Doctor and ER staff next time you need emergency care. It would save them all the time and effort of saving your life.

Normally, I don't think it's right to hit people; but I hope the person who did that gets hit....a lot, really hard, and without mercy--maybe with a car.

Maybe this wasn't done by a human. Maybe it was done by a pissed off horse. Or a kangaroo. Or a lemur.
