High school's senior shirts promote underage drinking
High school's senior shirts promote underage drinking
The shirts say "Oyster River High School seniors" on the front. The problem is on the back, which says "08 Pushing the Limit." Next to the numbers is a little paw print graphic that resembles a decimal point, turning the year .08, the state's legal blood alcohol limit. picked by sholom22 2 years ago

The little paw print also resembles a childs hand. Perhaps it means pushing the limit of how young is too young for sexual encounters.

I for one am outraged by the apparent support that the Oyster River students have for child predators.

The witch (or witches) that designed this shirt should should be burned at the stake.

The school's superintendent said he will investigate who designed the shirts and who approved them.
This is the key line. Crime is the mother of intention. Follow the will...

If you looked around most everything has a "dual meaning". It might have, could have, may have been unintentional, but then it might not have. How do you prove that? How do you actually know that the person who designed it might not be an underage drinker, who never had any kind of alcohol in their young life. In this country we are leaning toward guilty until proven innocent. I wonder if the pawprint wasn't there would this be such a big deal.

Reminds me of the shirts that the pole vault team at my school had. It said, "We Get High." I wish I had been on the team....

I remember in high school selling cookbooks that were simply titled "Quick & Easy" and all us girls had buttons that said...you guessed it, "Quick and Easy!" the next year it was, "I Want One!"

My high school actually has a similar theme with a series of posters. "Pushing the limit" next to a speedometer reading 110 mph

i saw this on the news the other day and the front of the shirt has "Oyster River High School Seniors" on it and "HIGH" is three times the size of the other text so from more than a few yards away all you can read is "HIGH".

i am all for clever shirts but i think they went too far. it is interesting they didn't even point that out in the article.

Child predators are people too.. they have rights..- instead od letting them leave after that dateline special stuff they should catch them like pokemon and use them for medical test dummies.. that'd be cool- you're sick- is .08 really that high? i blew a .23 when my best friends brother pulled me over and he just took me to taco bell in the cop car then let me drive home..
