If for some unknown reason my Relay was stolen and law enforcement had the ability to track and possibly cut the engine to prevent damage and apprehend the criminal I would hope they would use that technology. As long as it is legitimately controlled it will be a good thing. The assumption by some people is that anything and everything will be hacked and used for illegal purposes. Read the article by Lauren (linked in the /. post) and see how utter paranoia can seep into anything that even remotely (pun intended) can be used for legit purposes and be turned into an criminally-driven, psycho-controlled device used for only evil purposes.

So old kakana is motoring down the freeway with a semi on his tail.. Some slackjaw at OnStar keys in the wrong code and my car goes from 70mph to 35mph. Meanwhile, back in the semi, Bubba is yacking away on his cell phone and doesn't see any brake lights (there ain't any), resulting in my being run over by 10 tons of steel and cargo.
