Trauma Mama you find the most interesting and relevant items!

Why we don't treat our soldiers, and the veterans better I don't know? We have got to wake up,from Afghanistan and Iraq, we are going to have so many people and their families that need care...forget that Social Security won't cover the baby boomers, this I think is going to be a much larger and longer issue that needs attention!

I, too, am a soldiers mother!

Being retired military, I sympathize with the plight of not just this family but all the families that are suffering from these consequences.

I am a soldier's sister. I don't even know who she is anymore. She makes strange decisions (and not good ones) she lies, she drinks....I just don't know the person that came back from Afghanistan. I have mentioned PTSD and she just waves it off as ridiculous.

So glad this war was for something....

Oh...it wasn't?? Damn, wasted American brains, lives, money and sanity.....again....who would've guessed....

Yeah, you could say I'm a bit angry.

I am so sorry. I really am. If there is anything I can do for you, or point you in a direction for help from groups I am affiliated with, please, let me know.

You have every right to be angry! People will pop a "support the troops" magnet on their cars and think they are supportive. A 1.99 magnet isn't enough. They cannot see it, it is not tangible. Support is not only for those fighting across the way, but for the families who have to deal with the aftermath of all this as well.

From one of my best friends, who had a son in Iraq....

"Those who should be honored the most are being treated the worst. And the whole scheme reeks to me of the government trying to save a buck or two. These men and women have their lives changed FOREVER, doing what this government asks of them, so the least it could do is take care of them properly!! "

Those who come back disabled need our support, too.

And, I am with you on the war. We shouldn't be there.
