Contraceptive with no side effects developed Posted: 2 years ago by AutumnLotus
A revolutionary contraceptive patch which would mean no side effects such as mood swings, weight gain or stroke and cancer risks is being developed by scientists. The patch could be a viable alternative to the Pill but would not rely on the use of hormones to prevent ovulation.

Thats pretty awesome. I worry about new side effects though. Like risks to future babies and such.

Where do they attach the patch? Because any patch can prevent pregnancy if it is put to the right place and not taken off from there. One example is:
Obviously this is not a 100% method either.
On the other hand, if it prevents ovulation, it should decrease the chance of ovarian cancer.
This patch method seems to be very popular these days, there seems to be an anti-AIDS patch too coming to the market:

Don't save your pennies to buy it, folks. Note:
"the contraceptive could be on trial in a decade" and
"laboratory experiments on both human kidney cells and mouse cells had been able to prevent the production of between 90 and 95 per cent of the ZP3 protein"
I have no idea why the media get so excited about things happening in petri dishes. Call me when the human trials succeed.
