The internet is like anything else if they don't make some rules and try to control what their children are looking at then it can be a bad thing.

*snort* cus thats what we all need. sheltered and safe kids. uh huh. well i grew up on the internet, near enough (web'd since i was ~9 years old or so) and its not a bad thing. there are bad people sure, and your kid is easily led maybe keep an extra eye on them. but overall the internet is information. it isnt all good, bad or even interesting but it IS information. you learn a lot from it. mostly that most of the people are really dumb... but thats not the point.

when i have kids i will trust them enough to use the internet properly. and make sure I HAVE TAUGHT THEM well enough so they'll be fine. (and no 'dont talk to strangers, lol' isnt good enough :p)

The numbers are interesting but I don't think they reflect what the title suggests. There is a 3.5% error and a 5% increase in ones that don't have an opinion either way. That is 8.5 percent. The "drop" is 8%. Hmmm. I never really liked these studies. I have taken some that don't allow for written answers, only a number of ones that you can choose from. Most of them weren't even what I would have said or wanted to say. My children do things online and my oldest is using the internet for learning mathematics. She can access the training at school and at home. They also enjoy playing some games. We only allow certain content at home and while we aren't over their shoulder, they are still kept away from things they shouldn't be viewing.
