It's not the avatar that's a dupe, it's a link to the website that's a dupe. The links shouldn't duplicate, the avatars certainly can be re-used.

it's a dupe because it is the exact same site that was posted here yesterday.

well i just copied the image location.. and it brought up the website.. how can i help that from happening?

I don't understand what you mean--the point of plime is to share websites or stories. With something like this, posting it once is all that's needed, because it's assumed that people will check out more than just one of the pages.

If you wanted to highlight this one little guy, you could have added it as a comment in the original post, rather than making a whole new thread.

When you find something you want to post, use some keywords about the article, site, etc. to search through plime. This prevents you from posting a site that was previously posted by someone else. Typically any post 2 months or older is okay to repost, but in your case, the site was posted yesterday.

Up at the top right corner there is a search box. Use that to search for tags that might have been used if the website or article was submitted recently. I edited to update the other's search tags because they were vaque.

Don't sweat the dupe or downvotes. It happens to everyone from time to time. I'll upvote your comments to offset the negative vote for the dupe.

No, unfortunately, once you submit it you can't delete it. If it gets downvoted much more, it will move to the deleted page, which you can go to from the front page, by clicking the delete tab right next to the all links tab.

Don't worry though. Seriously, we all submit dupes from time to time. If it's been several months since it was last submitted, members will still upvote it if it's a good article or website.

Plus, it will be pushed to the second page of the all links section pretty quickly, and nobody looks past the first page.

I understand what you were trying to do. You just wanted everybody to see that particular image. In the future, what you should do is insert the image in the comments page. Look at my next comment as an example.
