'Just add water' instant shelters
'Just add water' instant shelters
The emergency shelter can withstand storms, extreme cold, and even bullets. It can be set up in 40 minutes as a solid concrete structure. The shelter is delivered in a bag, which is ripped open and water added. The material soaks up the moisture, activating the concrete. But the cloth remains flexible and is inflated by a battery-operated pump. picked by 2manyusernames 1 year ago

This is really revolutionary. The uses have such a far-reaching and diverse application. From instant garden sheds to homes for the homeless.

Truly brilliant.

I agree, that's a great idea! I hope the unit costs won't be too high, so they will actually be used in places like refugee camps in northern Uganda - and not just the by the military..

Agree.

But the military will pay $200,000 apiece for them.

Would be nice if they were cheap, but not too cheap.

You don't really want a forest of abandoned concrete tents when these things go surplus...

Totally true. This will make headlines when people start using them to go camping and just leaving them there. I wonder if there is a removal technique for them?

I bet within a year of production Mt. Everest base camp with be lined up with these.
