An opera singer unable to perform due to a rare condition which saw her grow an extra set of ribs is singing for joy after pioneering surgery saved her career. Talented Maria Field, 42, suffered from Cervical Rib, where an extra set of ribs forms above the normal first rib - an anatomical feature normally found in snakes.
