'Innocent people going about their daily lives'
'Innocent people going about their daily lives'
"These were innocent people going about their daily lives, performing their jobs and shopping for the holidays," Omaha Mayor Mike Fahey said Thursday. "They are men and women who did not deserve the fate that they were given."

It's so senseless. I can't understand why this happened. Thank you for honoring them with this post, dolly.

Upvoted for remembering the victims and denying the shooter his desired 'fame'.

Yes, thank you for posting this.

I live in Omaha and I was at the mall for lunch until about a half hour before this happened. I had taken a half day at work and planned to do some Christmas shopping at the mall after lunch. A couple of people at work wanted to eat lunch there too, so I gave them a ride and left about 1:15pm to take them back to the office. I decided to go home after; otherwise I would've been at the mall during the shooting.

Omaha is a smaller community too. Most people in the city know at least one person directly effected by this tragedy, myself included.

They've been airing this story on the news pretty much non-stop since it happened and have been focusing on the shooter. That kind of attention is exactly what he wanted. We shouldn't give him the satisfaction.

I'm so sorry for your loss and for any loss your friends and the community have suffered. These all seemed like really nice people who did not deserve this. It is the least we can offer to remember them.

We should refuse to glorify the shooters in these types of situations.
