There have been talks about the elimination of pennies, because most people consider that there's no need. What would such charities do then, collect quarters?

The only people who want to get rid of pennies don't need them in the first place. Getting rid of pennies will force people to round up their change losing hundreds of dollars a year.

The reason that there were talks of getting rid of pennies was because the value of that much raw material wasn't one cent anymore.
