The Bible According To Google Earth
The Bible According To Google Earth
Scenes from the Bible have been imagined by countless artists over the centuries, but never quite like this. God’s Eye View portrays four key Biblical events as if captured by Google Earth. 4 really amazing images and a very cool sculpture, must see! picked by 2manyusernames 2 years ago

what would you say is the over/under for the number of days before someone is e-mailed the picture of noah's ark with a letter explaining how that it is real proof of Noah?

I would venture it won't take long for that image to show up on snopes. :)

That was hundreds of years ago, how could anyone think the photo was real.

Hundreds of years ago? :)

People have believed a lot sillier things such as the Earth is 4004 years old.

In any case, I am talking about the photo of Noah's Ark. I could easily see someone point to this and say it is a photo of the Ark. That is has been found still intact due to its divine nature.

They would be wrong and stupid. Not for the first time either, I would suspect.

I'm still amazed how a pair of every living creature lived within walking distance of the "ark."

What's up with the unconnected power poles in the desert?

This is fun! I love mythology!
I remember watching a PBS documentary about a few of the flood myths, such as Noah's (he wasn't the first, you know!) The amazing thing is how many cultures - thousands of miles from each other - have incredibly similar creation/destruction/salvation myths.

Thank you for the post. This is a little brain candy. :D

“As a method of representation satellite photography is so trusted, it has been interesting to mess with that trust.”

*snickers* where's that Jesus-in-the-xray?

It is so hard to tell with print only... are you making a joke or are you asking a serious question?

I too wondered the same.

They look so little from way up high, don't they?

Well there has been quite a bit of substantial proof that an Ark of the size described in the Bible has been found and is hidden by the shifting ice caps on the top of Mount Arrat (SP?) in Afghanistan.

I am greatly interested in this kinda of stuff. I personally could care less about the light little stories in the bible, Im a fan of the darker more twisted stuff. 10 points for the good find.

When there's such overwhelming and convincing proof of the real thing as evinced in this satellite photo

Although, to be fair, I'm working on the assumption that the arrows and the red circle are superimposed on the image. If I'm wrong in that and that's what The Trinity Corporation went off to investigate then maybe they were on to something.

Thanks Pock, I was feeling a bit lazy today and didnt have the time to search for a link. You rock my socks.

Haha - I've spent so much time staring at air photos I'm confident I can properly identify power poles.

Calling those power poles was a bit of an inside joke... with myself, if that makes sense. With a little bit of imagination, though, that's what the look like!

Haha, that was so cool!
I'm showing them to my New Testament teacher tomorrow; I hope she is amused as well.

Actually, I want extra credit.
Whatever.

ANYWAYS, thanks for the AWESOME pictures!
Ill admit i spent about 15 seconds staring at the first one thinking that those were PLANES or something.

And then it hit me: OH! CROSSES! THATS SO CLEVER!
Which is probably what the founder of the method of crucifixion thought.

Perhaps you mean Mt. Ararat, a stratovolcano in Turkey?

Once again, I'd like to point out that while there may be evidence of this boat, there is no actual proof.

Yeah, Pock corrected me up a few posts. He good like that. And i know there is no hard proof, but I still believe that there is something important up there, something big, and part of history. Maybe is a house built by the Yeti. Or its the Ark. Either or...

... I approve.

From someone who is not religious at all, i did get a very odd feeling looking at these artworks. It's almost like, you see it, and say could that really have happened?

I realize it would be an entirely different artistic message but it would really be interesting to see many different "what if we had aerial photos" photos like these. Here are some from the top of my head, no offense intended to anyone of course:

Nazis marching prisoners into Auschwitz
The attack on Pearl Harbor
The minutes after the atomic bombing of Hiroshima
Storming the Beaches of Normandy

The Chernobyl disaster as it happened

JFK assassination

back further--
American Revolution battles
US Cival war battles

back even further--
The burning of Rome
Almost any major battle in any war from the ancient times
Building the Pyramids

hoax/myths--
Roswell crash site
Nessy in the loch

oh.. and um, how about dinosaurs?
I dunno, i could think of more.. but why...

Neat concept, well done too. Thanks for posting it.
