Recently released Sesame Street DVDs carry a sticker warning purchasers that state These early 'Sesame Street' episodes are intended for grown-ups, and may not suit the needs of today's preschool child.

We used to eat dirt, drink from a garden hose, play on playgrounds with lead paint, etc. We are fine. Our children are going to be implanted with the idea that our world is spotless white and nothing will ever happen to them ever. Ever. EVER.

Why does this kind of remind me of this post?

I am not that old, but definitely old enough to remember those classic episodes of Sesame Street before it all became this washed out watered down elmo-centric excuse for quality children's television.

I wish it was a joke! That is just craziness. My kids can watch any old Sesame Street or other great show I so desire. Watch that Cookie Monster stuff 25 cookies into his mouth! He rocks! And the grouchier Oscar is, the better! Bring it on!

I agree that this sketch is not for children and should never ever see the light of day again.

As a matter of fact whoever came up with this idea should be sued, arrested, jailed and executed as well. I mean we have to protect THE CHILDREN!!!
