how about doing away with the coffin all together, or perhaps some sort of compressed natural fertilizer type of box.

Funerals is one of the hugest scams that humans have ever fallen for. The profit margins enjoyed by the funeral industry is obscene in the extreme.

If I can ignore the energy needed for keeping the liquid nitrogen liquid, it has the big plus of being a bit like the end sequence of Terminator 2.
