Copyright is a legal concept that gives the creator of an original work exclusive rights to it, usually for a limited period of time.

The creators of the pyramids, and other works, are dead and 3000 years hardly qualifies as a limited time.

If the Egyptian government wants to generate funds to care for the ancient sites they need to re-think their business model. Keeping exhibits of movable artifacts on tour where people can safely see them (outside of the Middle East) would produce conciderably more income than this bogus copyright scam.

That is stupid. It makes me want to charge royalties on something inane yet commonplace on the basis of my heritage.

Rene Gagnon is my 2nd cousin. Thereby, all images/depictions/thoughts pertaining to the flag raising at Iwo Jima must be accompanied by a $1 fee sent to Paypal account abandonedcouch.

Also, being French, I'm also going to claim royalties on the Eiffel Tower and wheels of cheese. Get on it.
