Good Alternative: Musicovery

In an odd sort of way, this is good news. It's a shame that the service will be restricted, but it seems to me to be yet another nail in the coffin of the big labels; one they seem to be gleefully hammering in themselves.

As someone once said "the more you tighten your grip, Tarkin, the more systems will slip through your fingers."

Except in this case, "Tarkin" isn't really relevant. And by "systems" I mean "customers". But I'm sure you got that.

I think the music industry needs to re-structure its business practices. Technology and the world around us evolves and I think it's about time they do the same. They need to stop suing everyone and restricting music. They to me seem like the oil companies who are afraid of things going solar power because they may lose money. All in all they need to accept that the world changes too.

Web radio has been restricted where I work, which was where I used Pandora before they stopped the service over here about 6 or so months ago.

But thanks for the link, it will work at home :)
