Meet Noor: The Pacifist Posted: 9 months ago by muppetmaker
A man is playing through World of Warcraft trying to hit lvl 70, without intentionally killing anything, as he explores the concept of Pacifism in violent virtual settings.
Conclusion: This boy has WAY to much time on his hands.

Well, I don't play video games so I don't understand large chunks of this article. But so many people have too much time on their hands if they're busy playing these things (strictly my opinion, your mileage may vary), so I guess, why not try to do it differently, gives him an extra challenge I suppose.

Well from the month and a half that I played it, you can get EXP from killing things, finding new areas, and completing quests.

Considering this MAN (he's 50, not a boy) is calculating that it will take 14 weeks to gain what takes about an hour in-game fighting enemies... he's definately taking the slow approach.
If he was really wanting to RP his characters, like he says, he wouldn't be trying to level up but focusing his attention on petitioning and rallying for peace in the game.
Sounds to me like he's just trying to get some of that attention he obviously missed out on as a kid...

« acemak:don't you pretty much have to kill things to get experience and level up?...I don't play WOW so don't really know I played Wow for 2 1/2 years. A Warlock can summon a lower lvl Character to a Higher lvl world, thus you gain experience. If you are in a Party (5 other people including yourself) and they kill a monster or an animal, everybody in the group shares the experience.
So, technically it can be done. Its called Power Leveling and many people in the game look down on that approach. Most people tend to be proud that they got to lvl 70 on their own and not using higher lvl chars to get there.
However, other people who have multiple chars have their friends bring them to instances to help them lvl up quick which is different, because you're not asking a random person/or paying them gold to take you through.

Seriously, whatcha playin now? And if ya wanna come back, roll a Horde on Dunemaul. All my chars were on Horde. I don't have the money for that atm and I really don't wanna start all over. What a pain! Plus, any of the guys who play WoW and are actually in a good guild, are jerks.
But besides all of that, what chars do you have? lvls and such? Do you PVP or Raid?

But besides all of that, what chars do you have? lvls and such? Do you PVP or Raid? lmao..ima a guy who plays and is in a good guild. I quit about a year ago and deleted my 67 Lock about a month after tBC came out. I started up again a couple months ago and rushed a UD Rogue whos sitting at 62 atm. Stopped leveling because I got tired of carrying around ALL that gold I made from mining and skinning and made myself a 29 UD Rogue Twink for PvP. Currently, since I'm only 62 and not leveling yet, im only in a decent guild thats trying to start stuff, but I'll have no problem moving up when I hit 70 since I got friends in high places.
As far as PvPing, I love it. Ill be hitting it at 70, but right now im loving 29 bracket.
Since I do both, if I had to pick a favorite, it would be PvP. as long as it's with a good premade that works together. I'd much rather run with a good group doing either world or BG PvP than run with the same group through 1 dungeon. But, I do really like PVE as well, so it's pretty close.
