«Fizz71 : Don't the glass jars have a popping seal on them? I thought they did which is why I was surprised nobody mentioned if it was intact.
There's a video on the story, and they show the bottles intact. They weren't actually inside the bottle, but you know the plastic that you have to tear off from around the cap before you open the jar? They were under that plastic piece.
Still gross. 2Many posted a link awhile back about how to make your own baby food... I think that'd be coming in handy right now for these folks.
All my babies were Gerber fed. Not a worm among the hundreds of jars that came through my home over the years. We also used Beech Nut. How many years and millions upon millions of jars of baby food has Gerber massed produced? Yes, it is absolutely disgusting! And I would have been horrified too, maybe even a little vomit might come up. But it is the first I have ever heard. I actually found this more more disturbing than the grossness of the maggots:
KTVU contacted Gerber but have not received any response. Members of the staff at the Target store where the baby food was bought say they're not allowed to respond on camera, but say they would be glad to work with Gerber and give the Tims a refund.
A refund???? So they are going to give her what, a dollar???? And I certainly hope Gerber responds quickly as well. I better stop before I go off on a tangent and make this even longer.

Ahhh..I have a problem with video here sometimes so I only read the article.
I have to agree with Gerber then...that could have absolutely NOTHING to do with them and there could be just as much of a chance of another NON-Gerber product in that store having magots as any other gerber bottle. That _IS_ a shipping issue.
Who knows what truck or warehouse that stuff sat in...for all we know the maggots were infested in some item stacked ABOVE them in the truck it was shipped in.....and the only reason they are still there is because the plastic is pretty tight.
