Heard this on the TV news just twenty minutes ago - what a terrible thing to find out and then have to go through all the agony of break up!

Ew was pretty high up on my list of things to say.

Finding out something like that would mess you up good and proper.

These people finally found happiness and then BOOM! - they're siblings.

Ok, I know this isn't the popular opinion, but...
Why couldn't they have stayed married and just not had children? Who is that hurting?

Maybe they were too disgusted with the situation to stay together. There must have been some peer pressure as well.

This is so sad, imagine meeting a woman and falling in love with her to the point where you want to spend the rest of your life together, you cant imagine not being with this person, you have shared intimate moments, you have laughed together, traveled together, you have introduced each other to your friends, family, associates.

Then one day you are approached by someone and they say, HEYO! You guys are brother and sister, long since separated...

That would MESSS me up. But in their defense, not that Im condoning incest, but when you dont grow up with someone, and know their every move, and all that, its alot different. You cant look at it from a gross out perspective, they didnt know better, and even now that they know they really cant hate themselves.

How would you find something like that out? Do you think they looked into it after becoming suspicious of their exact birthdays? Did people keep commenting on how they look similar? Man that would suck. I bet they could get over the fact they're related if it wasn't the fear of them being looked down upon by others. I have no idea what I'd do. It's too weird.

I didn't find it so much "ew" - as the real power of twins -

sort of like the story of the twins who grew up on opposite sides of the Berlin wall. These people probably had been searching for each other all along. The love they felt probably made total sense. And perhaps "breaking up" was easier because of it.
