Maybe she should have suffocated herself so her daughter could have grown up in a loving home. I can imagine it would be difficult to deal with but when it is your child you want to do everything to help them with love and care. This was not the case. I agree with the prosecutor, the woman (I have a hard time calling her a Mom) was selfish.

Unfortunately, not many would have. Most adoptive parents want cute little babies with no physical or emotional or mental issues. In fact, most want cute little white babies but they're scarce so they'll accept an Asian or African American or any other baby as long as it's "healthy". Those are the sad facts.
