Yes, yes it did, there was no flash animation, no embeded scripts, just plain and simple documents posted with links to other documents and a few thousand small, lame, files and programs avaliable to download. At least that's what I remember of it.

And let's not forget, EVERYONE was on dialup, not to mention that Gigahertz weren't around yet, so it took for-freaking-ever to get a big page.

Internet, period, was awesome compared to looking at this all day
