Who needs porn on-the-go? I know I'm not alone when I say we need less sex so openly flaunted in public space. I think we should focus less on prevailing this outrageously intrusive sexual revolution and more on accepting that, yes, we are designed for sex, but no, we don't have to act like it's all there is to life.

As the article says, there has been no embargo on mobile porn in Europe and so far as my experience goes, it's (presumably) there if you want it, and if you don't, it's easy enough to avoid - don't want it, don't sign up for it. I've never had any pornography, unsolicited or otherwise delivered to my phone.

And as for "adult dates" - If you cut away the chaff the only difference between using a mobile and going to a bar and using beer is that the mobile method is going to be more efficient.

Sex between strangers is not a modern phenomenon. It has been going on longer than sex between people who know each other (unless you're a creationist). This technology doesn't cause it - just gives a different way of facilitating it.

And if you're not into it, then things like this would surely strike you as a boon. You're less likely to get hit upon in a bar or wherever if you haven't previously signed up to www.domeinabackalley.com.

I think you had me confused. I love sex, but I'm not really big on making it go hand-in-hand with penicillin. I huess it just bothers me a little that considering the prevailence of STDs over the past few couple centuries, and steadily increasing, that still I hear time and time again "OH! but shes so hot I just have to plug that hole!!!"

The thing is that it only has an impact if you let it. And I've no stats to back my argument, but I don't think that the dating aspect makes makes any difference to the number of people having casual sex.

Sexual irresponsibility does cause in increase in STDs and it is an issue - I just don't think that getting upset about mobile phone pornography (again - this is directed at the article, and to an extent the media in general rather than you, DC) will make any difference either way. And the same goes for the porn itself.
