Edison tried so hard to get DC going that he resorted to electrocuting horse, cows, and even an elephant. He tried to call these deaths by electrocution being "Westinghoused".

Not to mention he went back on his word of giving Tesla $50,00 for improving his crappy DC motors

In reality, Edison didn't invent most things he's credited for (including the light bulb), he just owned the company which was developing these projects - or others during which, many times by accident useful discoveries were made, which in turn led to useful inventions.
Also, he was the one to own the patents, so his name's the one we remember, not the true inventors'.
Plus, like Henry Ford, he was Anti-Semitic. Not good at all...
