Pro Golfer Charged With Killing Protected Bird With Golf Ball
Pro Golfer Charged With Killing Protected Bird With Golf Ball
Tripp Isenhour has been charged in Orlando with intentionally killing a protected bird with a golf shot.

He apparently was pissed off because it was squawking while they were trying to film a video segment. So yea, he was totally justified. picked by moe 2 years ago

According to the police report, Isenhour said "I didn't think I would hit it" after striking the hawk.
yeah, he didn't think he'd hit it so he tried 10 times.

We have this bird that we have dubbed "Dabney" "DAB" for short standing for DUMB ANNOYING BIRD. This is not a pet, this is just a little sparrow. Our windows are tinted to keep the house cooler in the summer. As a result, you can see your reflection. This dumb annoying bird pecks and flutters at our window ALL DAY! While I have threatened to find a BB gun to shoot its a$$ off the planet, I would never actually do it. It drives me crazy dumb bird. But as Lark said, it probably thinks it is seeing another bird. For the hawk in this story, maybe he wanted the guys autograph.

Tiger would have hit it first try at the 300 yard distance.

This reminds me of a story...

We would always go to the driving range at night. They had huge lights so that you could see the distance markers and balls. There were always tons of bats swarming around the lights chasing bugs. We always joked about aiming for the bats and it would give you "bonus" points.

One night my friend Andy shot a ball like normal and before we knew it we saw something falling from the sky. It was a bat helicoptering down towards the ground.

"Holy crap Andy, You killed a bat"! To this day that story always comes up when we talk about playing golf.

*Disclaimer - It was never any of our intentions to actually hit a bat*

That's only fair if they let him fly.

The bird was not in flight. It was chirping. So he can perch on a branch and chirp.

But the bird could have flown. It had the ability to fly. The real question is: Why didn't the bird fly away? Perhaps the bird wanted to die. Being a minority among the bird species can be very difficult, with all the ridicule and mockery from the other birds.

I don't think the golfer can fly.

I don't believe the bird had a death wish.

Poor hawk. It was probably just happy.

Hope there's not a Momma hawk, with a few in the oven, waiting on Poppa hawk to come home...

That just made me more depressed. Crap! :(

Once again, a macho male asserts his right to force the rest of the universe to do as he pleases or suffer the consequences. Top of the food chain, right? What a jerk!
