I figure as much. Abortions are done for a variety of reason, and some of those are bound to leave the woman with some emotional baggage.

How long do you think the protesters live in mental anguish?

I mean after they realize their self righteousness and hypocrisy.

**edit** I posted this because my wife had an abortion before I met her and over ten years later she suffers a lot of guilt and at times depression over it. She had the abortion on her birthday and even now doesn't enjoy her birthdays because it still affects her.

This article came as something of a relief to me to realize she isn't the only one and it helped me understand her a lot more.

The hypocrisy comes in because these people who are supposed christians blow up and sometimes kill people over abortion. That they have no love in their hearts for the woman in trouble and seek to cause them even more grief and make no attempt to understand her situation. That most of them don't have any adopted kids when they tell people to put the babies up for adoption instead of aborting. That they could volunteer at a homeless shelter or any number of other organization to help people that are alive from falling through the cracks but instead hold signs declaring how precious they think life is.

I'm sorry to hear that your wife can't enjoy her birthdays. Life is a strange trip and I think we do the best we can in a situation. Later it may cause regret but as life is one way we can only learn and try to do better.

Maybe if you took her to Hawaii she would be able to have a good time.

I asked about hypocrisy because you didn't explain that you meant, I don't think you can generalize about everyone who protests or is anti-abortion because as in all walks of life you'll find hypocrisy.

I agree with what you say about the adoption issue but I feel that abortion gives a convenient way out of pregnancy that gives a lot of people a more casual approach towards using protection as there is always the fall back of an abortion "If the worse happens".

I just feel that unless it's under exceptional circumstances like pregnancy due to rap or a handful of other reasons then abortion is waste of a human life.

If euthanasia is illegal for consenting adults then why is it not also illegal to kill an unconsenting life in an abortion? If I was to stab a pregnant woman in the belly and killed her baby I would be charged with murder because unborn or not it is a human life and human life is supposedly sacred.

As for Hawaii, with 5 kids it's a tad expensive from to holiday there from Britain, definately when the kids are older though :)

Oh and I love the way you mentioned Hawaii like it was a known cure for depression, made me giggle.
