Actualy, the Guinness ad didn't run in the US. The only reason I even know about it is because I happened to be in Ireland a few months ago and I caught it on a TV in a pub. It was really brilliant!

Imbedded that for you.
I'm surprised that it hasn't run in the US. It cost £10m to make and is the most expensive ad that Guinness have ever had. If I were going to spend that much money on an ad I'd want it shown as far and as wide as possible.
Maybe they have a campaign planned for a later date.
Although tying an Irish beer to a certain Irish drinking festival (sorry - Saint's day) that has just happened might have been sensible.
*sends CV to Guinness advertising, marked FAO FFS department*
It seems that Guinness has completely separate ad campaigns running in the US. We have a series of Guinness commercials which feature a pair of animated guys who are cutouts from a Victorian cartoon, who always proclaim things as "BRILLIANT!" which I learned (on that same trip to Ireland) that my Irish friends have never seen.
Still, your point about how much money they spent on that ad is well taken. You'd think they'd be showing it everywhere they could.
