Hubble finds first organic molecule on extrasolar planet
The tell-tale signature of the molecule methane in the atmosphere of the Jupiter-sized extrasolar planet HD 189733b has been found with the Hubble Space Telescope. Under the right circumstances methane can play a key role in prebiotic chemistry – the chemical reactions considered necessary to form life as we know it. picked by AutumnLotus 2 years ago

A bit of prebiotic chemistry, eh?

I doubt we'll find life, but what value for understanding how life developed on this planet.

I believe in aliens, with so many solar systems in the universe its a bit big headed of us to think we're the only ones in it.

But I also believe they're probably as dumb as us when it comes to space travel and aren't likely to visit our planet before we do theirs.
