Many people still worship Gore.
One way to increase the democrat's chance of winning is if he ran. He doesn't want the job of course. Why should he. He has too good of a thing going, riding the wave of global warming hysteria.

Still what he could do, is go on the ticket (as president or vice president) than resign after winning the election.

There would be a huge uproar about it but it would be legal.

I am curious what the reaction would be if he ran as president got elected, than resigned after being sworn in. What do you think would happen?

It would probably cause a lot of damage to the democrat party and make the job of his successor much harder.

Ok, first, worship is a strong word. Do Republicans worship Reagan? Rush?

Second, why would Gore run, and then resign? What better platform to "ride the global warming hysteria" than president of the US. I mean, it's worked for Bush/Cheney and giving billions to Haliburton and other friends. Gore could push enviromental issues his whole term.

And honestly, if I had to choose between wasting $500,000,000,000.00 on a doomed from the start war, and cleaning up the environment, it would be a no brainer.

Finally, somebody asked Obama during a town meeting if he would put Gore in his cabinet. Obama said he would, but it's not the same as coming out and saying he's asking Gore to be in his cabinet.

I have thus far read no fewer than two articles saying that Gore could still get the nomination for President! One from "Newsweek" and the other in "Time"... not goofy publications!

The idea (which I think it just too damn stupid to sully Plime with) is that at the convention, the delegates will have trouble deciding which candidate to select (Obama or Clinton), so they'll just pick someone else... and why not Gore?

That shows there still is a strong love of Gore within the Democrats. However, if a scenario like this were to happen (IMO) it would destroy the party. How do you go through the entire process, and then say, "You know what, you're vote doesn't really matter, we'll just pick someone else." Think of the money lost!

But I digress... yes, there are still a lot of people who really love Gore, and would love to see him in the White House... at least in some capacity. But if he were to do that, he'd be taking a big pay cut, and a hit to his own personal fame. Would it be worth it? Would he be able to "achieve his environmental goals" any better? No, probably not.

So in summation... I agree with you. Well said.
