The Chaos Theory in action
Sometime in 2004 a hamster got sick. Then it was sold from a PetSmart store. Then the woman who bought it died from a stroke. But she had contracted lymphocytic choriomeningitis from said hamster beforehand. Then her liver was donated to a guy. They guy then died several days later allegedly from the virus from the hamster.

The guy's wife is suing PetSmart for negligence. picked by moe 5 months ago

My youngest daughter watched Ratatouille, the kids film, and decided she wanted a rat. I said no but my wife turned up one day with two of the little b*****ds she bought from PetSmart (apparently they're happier in pairs).

Anyhoo the two male rats that she bought had 12 babies each one night after the other 7 days after she bought them. Turns out PetSmart aren't so smart after all. Petsmart guarantee that the animals you buy off them won't be pregnant but when we tried to complain that we were now lumbered with 24 unwanted rats they basically just laughed at us.

6 weeks later and we're still trying to get rid of them.

I hate PetSmart

Wow the people at your petsmart are dumb. Out of all the rats I've seen (my friend use to keep them as pets) I could easily spot the males. Just flip it over, if it had huge balls it was a boy.

As for getting rid of them, good luck. Any small locally owned pet shop willing to buy them? Or maybe a local zoo will take them to fee their snakes. You don't have to tell your kids that's were they ended up. ;)

Oh yeah, if you haven't all ready separated the sexes, you should do that. They can reach sexual maturity in five weeks. Last thing you want is more of them running around.

I was going to say this. Gees I was 13 when I had two pet rats, and they were both male. And yep, I knew it.

Isn't PetSmart the one that in the commercials the employees are playing with the pet toys? Maybe they should stay out of the catnip.

edit: As for the story...It's crazy, but it will probably win.

Hey I feel for you. I bought a scorpion from PetCo once. The damn thing was huge until one day I walk in and it had 9 little white blobs of scorpion babyishness all over its back.

*shrugs* When my friend first got her rats I helped her do some research. I'm good at retaining useless information.

i can't believe their focus is petsmart. you'd think they would go after the hospitals that did the transplants. i mean what the hell? do they not test organs for disease when they take them out for transplant? they had 2 different chances to catch it before they plugged a diseased organ into someone. i'm guessing it's because petsmart has deeper pockets...

Why stop at PetSmart? Did the hamster arrive at the store already diseased? Or did he catch the disease from ANOTHER hamster? And where did THAT hamster come from? I think she should sue George Bush. It's obvious that ultimately it's his fault. EVERYTHING is his fault.
;)
