Clearly you can't expect people to dress for anything.

What I don't get is how the shoe getting caught caused her to accelerate. If it was caught on the gas pedal and was being pushed down when she pushed on the brake, the car still shouldn't have moved. If it was caught and she was trying to get it free, you'd think she'd have been pulling up, not flooring it.
