Tim Horton's fires single mom over free TimBit given to baby
Tim Horton's fires single mom over free TimBit given to baby
I received a very prompt reply from Rachel Douglas, Media Relations at Tim Horton's after I emailed her this morning:

Unfortunately tha actions of the manager of this location were not appropriate nor grounds for dismissal. With an apology from management Ms. Lilliman has been rehired by this Tim Hortons franchisee at another location.

I remember when timbits were only 10¢ and the big box was REALLY big.

The Timbits given to pets, Mitchell added, are usually "day-old and recycled."
Having worked at Tim Hortons, I know that this is a ridiculous lie. Even in a store that doesn't have its own bakery, donuts are delivered and old ones tossed at least twice a day. While it's true we'd give dogs a couple free timbits, there's no way they'd leave a bunch around of old ones lying around. What a retarded manager.

It could have been an excuse (a really poor excuse) to fire her. They could have been trying to get rid of her for some other reason.
But who knows.

Cost of a single timbit: 16 cents. Damage to Tim Hortons' rep: priceless. Solution: Fire the moronic manager and put the single Mom in his place.
