And you think that the American Population could stand another 4 years of George W. Bush (which is what McCain is - of sorts)?

Your avatar is perfect!! It just needs an arrow pointing to the right... BURNED!

It's too bad W. can't be voted into a third term, I mean we still have a middle class and gas prices haven't even hit $5 yet! Go Republicans!

That is funny! The guy is obviously exhausted. I can't tell you all how many times I have suffered from that same problem and had my words all screwy. It's just funny. He doesn't even realize it either.

Hey come on... it's Obama... cut him some slack.

I mean, sure... if it was someone from the other side of the isle, we could burn him at the stake... but this is Obama... the big O!

Come on... he's so handsome!

so much anger.. Are you by any chance short? the same would be said if any of the other candidates said it. It is funny, but not quite a bushism so it isn't worth lingering on for too long.

In what universe is that an angry comment?

It's not a Bushism because it wasn't made by Bush, i.e. a person you fundamentally oppose. The double standard is obvious, but what does one expect? It's politics.

Besides... Obama is so charismatic! We can let this one slide.

Why so angry? Do you need a hug? Perhaps a lapdance?

The difference between Bush and Obama is that Bush does this every day whereas Obama did it once.

Yes, I am short... AND, I've lost much of my hair in college! I think I've earned the right to be perpetually pissed off! ;)

But I'm not.

This was more sarcasm, than anger... and a little bit of frustration.

Bush makes an "oops," and it's "What an idiot" and it's all over the front page. Obama makes an "oops," and it's "Aww, how cute... it's okay, he's probably tired."

Seems to be a double standard to me. And yes, Bush has done it a whole bunch of times... but they're still just 'oops'es. He's not a good public speaker, and that's his greatest flaw... but I refuse to believe it goes any deeper than that. I had a friend who was the head of the "Quiz Bowl" team through college... but couldn't talk to a crowd without shouting for his legs to stop shaking.

But maybe it's because I'm short. (5'6"/5'7" is short, right? Or am I average? I feel short. Although, I'm taller than everyone in my family, except the little brother... and he's only 5'8")

firstly, your as tall as my bf... secondly you need to stop focusing on the loudest group of people. Yes bush is a terribly public speaker, and it would be easy to look past that (I did for his 1st term) if he didn't keep proposing such stupid and dangerous ideas.

And on any level, this was funny, not as funny as Bush calling the popes speech "awesome", but still pretty funny. Unless you have a real hatred of the guy, it is hard to do anything but laugh, that is just how people work. We forgive people we like easier than people we... dislike.

Well, that makes me feel better. The short part, that is. Although, are you short too?

But anyway, his poor ability to speak is different than his ideas... independent are the two. People can freely disagree with his ideas, but to call him "stupid" simply because of his un-speaking abilities, is foolish.

Well, I still stand by "awesome" as being an acceptable term. It does appear in prayer books quite frequently... so it kinda fits.

As for forgiveness... yes, you are correct. But that also speaks to bias. There are some people you dislike because you disagree with... while there are some people you like because you agree. But if they do the same thing, fair treatment would suggest the same response for both.
