The rougher the bowling ball, the more likely you are to score a strike in ten-pin bowling, according to new research. picked by AutumnLotus 8 months ago

This has been up for three hours and has not yet received one rough balls joke? I am very disappointed in all of you.

How about...

The article doesn't mention anything about wrinkles...

No? OK. My main point then.

A pre-emptive. Before anyone makes the (somewhat predictable) "Way to go scientists, don't bother curing cancer." type comment, think for just one moment how much money there is in bowling.

See why they do it now?

Okay, maybe this was just obvious to me. But DUH!!!! Maybe there aren't many bowlers here but I've been bowling for most of my life (started on leagues when I was 9) and this just seemed so obvious to me. If my ball starts losing its track I start by cleaning it, if that doesn't help I usually bake it for a little while on low heat (pulls all of the lane oil out of it) then if it's in really bad shape I just break out the sandpaper and give it a good once over. They should have given me the money. :)
