Glow in the Dark Child Abuse Ads
Glow in the Dark Child Abuse Ads
These Children and Adolescents Reference Center ads are printed in fluorescent ink as to appear normal with a child playing or innocently laying in bed. When you turn the lights off, a new image appears revealing a grown man doing improper things with the little kids.

Clever concept, scary ads.
I wanna see that glow in the dark idea being used somewhere else where there aren't depictions of child molesters.

child abuse awareness adds. they aren't advertising child abuse.

i'm not sure if shock adverts are the way to go with this tbh... they make 'normal' people uncomfortable and i don t see how they help the actual victims much. im all for awareness and help but.. i dont see the benefit of the graphic nature.

i mean with the AIDS ones (scorpions, spiders and whatnot) i at least saw the point... everyone is capable of having unprotected sex. this just doesn't work for this area though. "oh wait that advert says its bad i shouldn't molest my nephew"? :|

Why are there only depictions of grown men? with the current news of female teachers taking advantage of there male student why isn't there one of a teen boy playing football and when you turn the lights out....

Yes, they are inappropriate ads.
Guess what...
Child abuse is inappropriate as well.

I think these ads are very true and clever, and although I don't believe everyone should agree with me, or that these ads should be everywhere, they do speak true simply about a very real and terrible thing that happens everyday, everywhere.

No. It says that you cannot tell for certain if a kid is being molested unless you have some magic vision. You should be aware of the danger signs associated with such abuse.

Very effective IMO.

oh give me a break... those only make the news because they are the exception to the rule. the vast majority of offenders are white males.

Females comprise only 1.2 percent of arrests for rape and 8.0 percent of arrests for all other sex offenses (U.S. Department of Justice, 2002)
so srsly stfu. google is your friend.

I didn't look at it that way, but now that I do, I think you're right.

...it turns into softcore porn?

Seriously, the 'depiction' of a female teacher with her male football playing student is probably more related to fantasies than it is with child abuse.

The one with the little girl and the tutu, and the one with the kid lying in bed is good for the shock and message. The one with the little kid crawling in the livingroom goes too far though.

I know the POINT is to go too far, but there shouldn't be a depiction of THAT. And where were that kid's parents when the ad company said "We'd like to depict your kid as giving some guy a.." "Where do we sign?!"

My first thought was that actual child molesters would get turned on by the ads, making them ineffective.
