Is voicemail too complicated? or how about actually talking to the person instead? Am I missing something here?

Or for an alternative, instead of calling some service to write down what you want to say and send it to someone else, try actually calling that person and saying it to them. I really hate text messaging, it is making our kids stupid. Not only that, but it takes 15 minutes to have a 2 minute conversation. Seriously, I think people that text message constantly aren't smart enough to think fast enough to say what they want without seeing it written down in front of them.

I've texted with my kids during school hours whenever we had something pressing to communicate, when they weren't able to speak freely or when they couldn't listen to a voice mail. I kind of liked the idea of the service because I'm the world's slowwwwwest textor, for one..and also because it would keep people that like to text while driving from doing that.

Honestly I sort of miss racing to the wall mounted home phone to see who was on the other end of the line.

Message machines were fun. Caller ID was sort of exciting...

but I kind of miss drop in's and real face to face communication
