The world's oldest mother, 70, out with her three-year-old
The world's oldest mother, 70, out with her three-year-old
Adriana Iliescu, who celebrated her 70th birthday on Saturday, is actually a first time mum, proudly spending every waking moment with her three-year-old child.

I saw the picture of the actual woman. The one in the theme pic is actually less scary.

Why does this belong in the WTF category?

I don't see why this shocks people so much, when articles about very young mothers or mothers who have many, many children fail to shock people.

She's an adorable little girl (though, aren't they all?).

I'm going back to my fantasy world where old people don't have sex. *shudder*

I'm sure I'll be one of those old people having sex someday, until then, I choose to avoid thinking about it.

She's kinda my hero! If she can do it at that age, I can do it in my 50's, if we are finally financially secure.

She has a lot of life in her, and is so happy to be a mom that her age is no longer a matter (right now) Even another 10 healthy years with her kid will be good for the girl. 15 years will be plenty to raise the kid to maturity. She makes a good point about people younger than her die every day, so you can't say this is bad because this lady will die soon, anyone can die 'soon' from anything, but that doesn't stop them!

Having a child at that age is just selfish, nothing else. Unless she has an unusually long life, she will die of old age before her child is out of her teens, and without a father, who does she have left? Not to mention that by the time she's 10 she'll probably be having to look after her ageing mother. SELFISH B*TCH.

Ditto.

As someone who lost their father when I was 13, I wouldn't intentionally want that for any child. I think when you have a child when you are that age, you are not thinking of what the consequences will be for the child if you pass. Especially from what I quoted below, no father, no other family etc. The kid will be a complete orphan. Obviously she didn't think of that, her mommy alarm was screaming (does that even happen at that age?) The mother looks physically frail to me. She won't be able to keep up much longer.

Adriana has no family or close friends left to help her - and there is just one person with an interest in Eliza's future welfare - her godfather, the IVF doctor who brought her into the world.
Poor kid. If mom passes, she will have a godfather that probably sees her more as a science project.
