At nine months old a baby doesn't know what they are doing when they bite. I am glad it is being dealt with, but what I do not understand is the charges. She was charged with neglect. I couldn't hear it very well even with the sound turned up, so maybe they mentioned other charges like hmmmm CHILD ABUSE. If they suspect neglect than that is another thing. As I said, I couldn't hear it very well.

This was way out of line, but I can see it. Tho not to that extent.
The baby was fussy, giving her a hard time, they were both probably worn out and cranky, at the end of their ropes. She snapped.
I know it sounds awful, really, but I think maybe the baby is lucky that's all that happened.

that sounds horrible....but it does remind me of when I was a kid and my dog bit me....so I bit him back. Then we had to call poison control because he had flea medication on his back that could have made me very sick.

heck, even when a child is old enough to know to not bite and you do the whole "bite back" you never leave teeth marks, omg..the amount of bite it had to take to leave marks that were still visable seven hours later...poor baby. (trying to type while nursing sux..excuse my spelling and lack of sentence usage..lol)

Biting as a discipline measure is a bad idea period. People don't realize how strong their jaw muscles are, and as anyone who has mistakenly chomped down on their own tongue would know, it doesn't take much effort to bite hard.
