I have my grandfather's certificate for his duty in World War II. It holds a dear place in my heart because when he passed away a few years ago my Mom and her sisters gave it to me. He had some great stories even though he only did about 4 years Navy service.

That's cool. Unfortunately we're losing a lot of them to age now. Fantastic generation of people.

The best gift my grandfather ever gave us, was a set of cassettes he made of him talking about his life experiences. Growing up in the depression era, joining "The New Deal," enlisting, raising my mother... all that stuff.

Very cool stuff.

Wait.. it said he became a paratrooper and both his chutes failed on his training jump? he was the last to jump and first to hit the ground?? he didn't die after falling from a plane? thats amazing, forget about the diving on the grenade thing.

Certainly have plans for it... although I haven't started yet.

I would really love to find some great passages, and animate them (because I like animation). I think it would make a really neat short film.
