I had a parent at one of the games that was yelling at every call I had made. At halftime I mentioned it to the coach. He said that he did this all the time. He knew that I couldn't red card the parent and in this case I had to red card the coach. Starting the next half the parent persisted until he started using profanity, at which time I approached him, showed him the red card, and then told him that I can't card him but his coach is now red carded and has to leave. The guy got pissed AT ME!

I wrote it up, submitted the paperwork, and the parent was suspended for three weeks from attending games. The coach was allowed back to games.

It is this type of parenting that I hate. Let the kids have fun, enjoy, and learn the sport. If they get good then support them, but don't push them too hard because one day they will be bigger than you and push back!

My parents supported us in all we did, but never pushed too hard, unless we were just slacking off.

dork @ 6/17/2008 4:44:08 PM

I'm sure the kids just wanted to play...and have fun, the adults sometimes take the games more seriously than the kids.

Parents ruin everything these days.
