The "Undiscovered" Tribe Was A Hoax
The "Undiscovered" Tribe Was A Hoax
You all saw the pictures of the supposed undiscovered Amazonian tribe. Those shots took the internet by storm. Now we learn that it was an hoax to bring attention to the threat of logging. The tribe has been known for almost 100 years. picked by 2manyusernames 1 year ago

I'm not surprised that they've known of the tribe, and I understand their strategy on exposing it. I just hope the sociologists (or Fundamental Missionaries) don't swoop in to study and convert them.

I'm not sure how I feel about this...

One one hand when I first saw the photos I suspected that they might be COMPLETELY staged, they were just too good to be true. So this didn't come as a surprise to me.

And while the tribe wasn't "Undiscovered" it's clear that they haven't had a lot of contact with the outside world in a very long time.

I think he made his point, and that was the important thing. There would hardly have been the same media buzz if the true story had been told, and I think it's an important cause. This would hardly be the first time people have lied to the media for attention, and usually it's for personal gain.
