People seem to forget that this is a collectible barbie, they go for like 50 bucks a tad pricey for a child's play thing. Most people buying this will be a comic book fans.

Since it is a collectible they are very lucky that people are making a fuss since it will only result on increased sales.

How could they possibly take something as innocent as this and turn it into trash?

The people who are complaining have obviously never seen what real kids do with their barbie dolls. I think the fishnets are preferable to all the naked tramp barbies that I've found in my daughter's room over the years. Her nickname right now is Sweeney Todd, because I found a pile of barbie parts and chopped off hair under her bed.

I'd hit that.

The real problem here is that they picked a lame-ass no-name character like Black Canary. Come on Mattel! (haha, 'come on mattel' kind of sounds like I'm talking about bornbads post) There are plenty of super heroines out there you could have picked. She-hulk, Black Cat, Catwoman, Spiderwoman, Storm, Jean Grey, Rogue, etc.

OOh, OOh! I claim Storm Barbie.

I'm pretty sure I seen the Catwoman one before, but yes they need Rogue barbie, I would buy it in a instant. <3

They can market any doll they want. If you think it is "inappropriate" don't buy it. If your daughter asks what is Barbie wearing? Tell her it is a costume for a comic book character. Tell her you think the style is "inappropriate" then move on.

Now there you go, making sense again. Don't let it become a habit.
