China Begins Car-Rationing in Beijing Leading up to the Olympics Posted: 1 year ago by JDRucker
Beginning today in Beijing, cars with license plates that end in an odd number are banned from the roads every other day, alternating with cars that have even-numbered plates. It is estimated that there are about 3.5 million vehicles on the roads in Beijing and the ban will reduce the numbers of cars on the road by about one million per day.

James, you have been here long enough to know we do not allow self-linking.

I've been quiet until now, but from looking at the articles you submit here and a ton of other sites under various names, your activity here, your profile on various sites, it really appears that you have a connection to many of the sites you post.

I do hope I am wrong in this assumption

In any case, I have changed the link

I'll stay out of the above discussion as it is not my cup of Kool-Aid.

I will make the point though that every other day driving has been going on in Mexico City for many years, and it's still terribly polluted, to the point that it's even hard to breathe INDOORS. Hopefully Bejing isn't doing too much, too late.

So one third of the plates are neither odd or even and can drive all the time?
