The judge has a point EXCEPT the problem is much more than a mere harmless pass was made.

It shouldn't be against the law for one adult to make a pass at another adult provided that there are no penalties actual, implied, or perceived.

She was locked out of her office. Getting fired for not sleeping with the boss is a far different thing then just being on the receiving end of a pass.

She definitely should have won the case. Hopefully a higher court will side with her especially due to the international attention being given to it.

I actually think this article is a bit more important than it lets on. How many people are aware of the sexual abuse of women in Russia? We're told about religious discrimination but just reading the stats (provided the resemble a somewhat reliable figure), woman are lead to believe that they only way they can excel is through using sex. That's horrible.

I dunno. There does seem to be an "icky" factor when a boss hits on you. It's a position of power thing. Sure, they can act like it was only a pass, but then this weird thing has happened which could have many more layers to it and the boss will just deny until the end of the earth that anything was meant by it or that bad performance reviews had anything to do with being turned down.

Perhaps an outright barring of making passes at underlings shouldn't come to light, but maybe at least a rule of thumb of it would be good.

My thoughts exactly. By this reasoning ANYTHING that helps perpetuate the 'survival of the human race' is ok?

I wonder where this judge stands on women's reproductive freedoms...

Apparently not there!

Excerpt:In May, Vladimir Putin, alarmed at Russia's declining population, which is falling thanks to short life expectancy and a plummeting birthrate (1.17 children per woman, down from about 2 in 1990), offered a bonus of 250,000 rubles (about $9,200) to women who would have a second child.

Always nice to see world leaders taking a leaf from Hitler's book. He did have his moments.

I guess this judge would think rape is okay, since the female may become pregnant, and that would help perpetuate the species.

I think this judge is totally insane.
